    3. I am searching for anyone with knowledge of Hugh Lally and Bridget O'Hearn Lally. They immigrated from unknown area of Ireland to New England. I do not know where or when they disembarked or what ship they arrived on. I have their names only, and Ireland is stated as their birthplace from their son Anthony H. (Hugh?) Lally's death record in 1889, Gloucester MA. as well as his civil war pension file. Anthony states in his US Navy civil war pension request that he was born in Fall River MA. I estimate this to be about 1840, give or take 2-3 years, somewhere in the US, but most likely Fall River. I have requested birth records for him in both Suffolk and Bristol Co MA. . Anthony (a mariner) married in Gloucester, Essex Co MA in 1879. After his death his wife and daughter suddenly begin stating his birth took place in Charleston SC. Per his pension file he "lived" in Charleston for a short time before returning to MA to enlist in the US Navy. I have done much research in the Charleston area and had help of professional genealogists who tell me there is no trace of Anthony or his parents in that area. He states both parents born in Ireland. It is his parents I am most interested in at this point in my research. So far I have absolutely no info on them other than what I have stated above. I know it is possible they returned to Ireland but I think that is not likely. They must show up in a census record somewhere but I am standing nose to brick wall. Any info will be most appreciated. 3. Gena, Just some questions for now. Who did Anthony marry and what were his children's names, in order (with birth year)? Do you have his marriage certificate? I didn't find one for a Lally in Gloucester that year.
