Good evening all, I am new to this list and am hoping that someone might be able to help me with the above person. Here is what I know about him: John Burke, b. ca 1790 somewhere in Ireland. He married Abby Perry in New Bedford, Ma on February 8, 1823. John was a gardner for John Avery Parker, one of the first millionaires in New Bedford. They were the parents of John Jr., Thomas, Elizabeth, Sarah, Abby, William, and Lucy. William, Lucy and a Baby girl all died young. My question is, How do I find out where in Ireland he came from. The death certificate just says he was born in Ireland. John and Abby Burke are my 4th great grandparents. I descend from their daughter Elizabeth Farrington Burke who married Amos Foster Lovejoy in 1852 in New Bedford. Thank you for any information anyone can tell me.
