Hi, Fran, There were lots of Roscommoners in Rhode Island as well, mine among them. The names Carroll and Cassidy, for instance, were both present around Strokestown and in Kilglass Parish. That said, my several Monaghan women went to Providence from Aughnamullen West parish in southern Monaghan about 1850. Surname: McNally. There, Catherine McNally married John Riley of Kilglass, Roscommon, and after several years moved to Burrillville and, several years later, into eastern Connecticut where they remained. Among others I had Carrolls, Tagues (Montagues), Cassidys, Gavagans and McElroys. The McElroys are from County Tyrone, but the others could be Co. Monaghan, Co. Fermanagh or possibly others.
