Carol, If all of his records just say Ireland, you will have to hope there are siblings and cousins and track them down. Unfortunately, with a Burke surname, he could be from anywhere in Ireland. The questions to ask: What church was he a member of? Did any of those church members come from Ireland and did they indicate where they were from? Is anything marked on his burial site as to where he was from in Ireland? Was there an obiturary? If so, who was listed? Do you have their church marriage banns and did they indicate witnesses? Could others in his family have immigrated before he did and did he stay with them? Are there any indications that others from his family came and lived with them after they immigrated? By the way, this could be fifty years later, so don't just look for the next decade or so. Best of luck in your search.
