Ren might be able to to enlighten us on whether Presley and John Neville spent their prisoner-of-war time on a ship off the coast of Charleston. 1780, May 12, PRESLEY NEVILLE, a Lt. Col. in VA line, taken prisoner. JOHN NEVILLE, a Col. in VA line, taken prisoner (NC Col. State Recs. 16, 671.) Although the reference is in NC State Recs., I have something around here which shows they were held in the Charleston area. When I find that record, I will see if a ship's name was given. Since the Neufvilles lived in the Charleston area, it would seem likely one of them was the person who was held, but with Presley and John being in the same area during the war, it wouldn't hurt to check them out, too.
