Jan and Ren: I have found some early interaction between the Solomon Nevill and George Nevill lines in Montgomery Co., TN. Yesterday I received a packet from the Clarksville Library that was from a file indexed as Edward Walton Nevill. It contains correspondence from people who were doing research in the 1940's. Most of their work centers around Solomon's line and that of his wife Susanna Walton. I never could find her parents line until now--Trimble never goes into the Walton line and never indicates that he knows who her parents are. Susanna was the daughter of Edward and Barbara (Hester) Walton Sr. Edward Walton Sr. died in Montgomery Co. in 1819, generating the following records: Record Bk C 1818-1821, page 215: Bond of Edward S. Walton, Zachariah Grant and John Neville to administer estate of Edward Walton deceased. October term 1819. The John Nevill who is the son of Solomon Nevill was born in 1801. It seems to me that he is too young to the John Nevill mentioned in this record. So who is this John Nevill? It seems to me that the only other John Nevill who is a likely candidate is the one in George Nevill's line. The only other possbility is that this is not John Nevill, but Solomon Nevill written to look like John? That seems like reaching. And one other record pops up: In about 1822 the State of TN, County of Montgomery appoints William Trigg, Wm. R. Gibson, Richard Blount, and Bryan Whitfield, esquires to examine three of the daughters of Edward Walton, Sr, deceased in order to relinquish their dower rights. Isn't Bryan Whitfield in the George Nevill line? I seem to recall George and John Nevill living in the Trigg household on one census. Here are some surnames popping up in the Walton line. Do any of them turn up in the George Nevill line? Son-in-laws of Edward Walton, Sr: Charles Barker, Daniels, Charles Meriwether, John Hyde, Solomon Nevill [!]. Daughter-in-laws: Miss Gibson, Dolly Reekes. Kathy
