Jeanne, Thank you for the response related to Frederick Co., VA. Some of the children in your references to marriages seem to belong to John Neavill (b. 1689, d. 1768 in Fauquier). John named the following children in his will (WB 1, p. 125, Fauquier Co., VA): John, Robert, Gabriel, Henry, Elizabeth Taylor, Sarah Redman, Mary Neavill, Kitty Fitzgerald, Ann Fishback, and Thomas who m. Mary Stewart. The 1767 lawsuit in Winchester, VA, shows a John Neville appearing in court as plaintiff and Richard Neville as defendant. John Neavill (d. 1768 in Fauquier Co.) could have been the plaintiff, as well as General John, the former sheriff of Winchester. (I need to verify this information by ordering a copy of the lawsuit from Frederick Co.) Do you know who Hiram Nevill's father was or anything else about Hiram? I tried, without success, to find out once before because there is a Hiram in my Misssissippi line. Since Hiram Nevill is not a name one comes across every day, I thought the fellow in Frederick Co. might be a clue to my line outside Mississippi. Thanks again for the info.
