    3. Since Katherine has been a popular number of everyone's dance card recently, I thought I'd throw this out: Katerine lived for four years after the death of John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster. She returned to Lincolnshire and died on May 10, 1403. She was buried by the High Alter in Lincoln Cathedral, where her son Harry Beaufort, later cardinal and chancellor, and become bishop. Katherine's tomb is there now [c. 1954], with that of her daughter Joan. John, Duke of Lancaster died on February 3, 1399 at Leicester Castle with Katherine by his side--they had been married three years.
