Pitt. Proof of the connection between John and James has eluded researchers, although a connection seems likely. Our own Ren Neville is descended from Gen. John. _______________ >Also, another possibility for PA Neville families was a >James Nevill who was a land agent for William Penn in New Jersey in the >1680's. The James you mention is interesting. I wonder who his descendants were? I am glad to meet someone else whose family spells the name the way mine does. My grandfather was aware that the orignal spelling of our name was Neville or Nevill, and knew in which generations the spelling began to change. Have you posted your line? I can't seem to find it. How does it connect with James of Barren Co.? Jan
