Hi Jan: My line here in Ontario spelled the name NEVILL but I have seen signatures by Moses spelling it NEVIL and NEVILL. There was another family of Nevills here and it is this one that I spent a long time untangling from my own. Recently a Mark Nevills joined the list and he is from the Nevills family of Ontario. They originally came from New Jersey. The information which you sent me may be very useful to Mark. I will also forward it by snail to my friend in Florida who is researching this line. I am interested in FOSTER as that line is a complete mystery to me. Thomas NEVILL's (s/o Moses) mother-in-law was named Maiden RICE; she was abducted by natives and taken from her home in VA and ended up here eventually. I believe she was Maiden FOSTER. I found a William RICE marrying an Anna Nevill in VA in LDS Ancestral File. Maiden RICE had a son William who disappears from the records here around 1814 and the date of the above mentioned marriage fit nicely so I wrote the submitter but received no reply. I may never solve my Foster mystery as I have no dates of birth or husband's given name and the only clue I have is that I found one IGI entry that suggests Maiden RICE was of Sussex Co., VA. Well I lie, it says that Mrs. Stacy was of Sussex Co. VA and Maiden married John STACY but I believe the entry is her marriage. That is my interest in Foster as it relates(?) to my Nevill line. Thanks for all the information. Paddy
