True, there was no Elisha in the information I received from a correspondent, but names of some descendants of Joseph Neville, Jr. were not given. The information is also incomplete on where some of the descendants settled. If one member of the family went to South Carolina, then others may have settled in the area. Many Alabama settlers came by way of SC. I do know that some of the Alabama Nevilles are descendants of William Neville who was said to be Joseph's brother. They went to Alabama by way of SC. It would seem that Joseph's line is worth investigating for a connection with your family. First of all, the two lines have the names George and Presley as given names. Also, some of Joseph Neville, Jr.'s family could easily have lived in Illinois, especially since several of his descendants were moving down the Ohio Rive. Another Neville family which had connections with Alabama was the Neville family of Bullock Co., GA. Their line is also listed in 370-YEAR HISTORY. Then there is Lois's Neville line which had descendants in AL. You can get an overview of that family by looking at Historical Southern Families by Boddie. In our discussions, that line has sometimes been referred to as the Isle of Wight, VA, line (William Neville, the progenitor). The Isle of Wight line has not been connected with the Nevilles in and around Fauquier Co., VA, but we keep finding little bits and pieces which seem to indicate that the two lines were rather chummy with each other, particulary after they began migrating westward. In fact, your family information hints at a connection: the Beales/Bells were connected with the Isle of Wight Nevilles, but Presley is a name associated with the Neville line in Fauquier and nearby counties. Have you looked at an IGI index to see if and where and when the Elisha Neville name pops up? Does anyone on the list have a comprehensive chart on Gen. Joseph Nevill, Jr.'s descendants? As soon as I can get a small space of time to check my files, I will see what else I can find on Elisha, if anything. The name is familiar, but I may have information that you already have. My "dead relatives' room" was a mess a month ago, but I could eventually find most things I wanted. However, when live relatives came to visit in late July, I had to straighen up the room so they could find the bed. Now, I can't find anything, so give me a little time. Jan
