    2. Rey & Jan: The mention of Perth Amboy in Jan's posting below rang a bell, so I did a littl digging. "Jan's John" Nevel, born in Amboy ca.1752, m. Mary may be son or grandson of the "John Nevil of Perth Amboy, gent" listed below. There was also a Samuel Nevil kicking around that neck of the woods. Abstracts from Franklin's Pennsylvania Gazette, 1728-48, Scott. Genealogical Publishing Company. 1975: Sonmans, Peter, Esq., of Perth Amboy, Middlesex County New Jersey dec'd - the lands, tenements and real estate bequeather to his wife Sara Sonmans are now vested in Sauuel Neirl, of London, Eng. Gent. (eldest brother and heir at law of the said Sarah), JOHN NEVIL of Perth Amboy, gent, & Peter Sonmans, of Philadelphia, Doctor of Physic. 24 June, 1736. p. 133. Tract of land in New Brunswick, Middlesex New Jersey will be sold at Widow Baldwin's in New Brunswick; enquire of John Deare, Esq. At Perth Amboy, or Paul Miller, Esq. in New Brunswick; sale is by virtue of writ issued at suit of Conradus Desmith againts property of Christopher Gildemeester, dec'd, which was in hands of SAMUEL NEVIL, admin. of said Gildemeester dec'd and by virtue of writ issued at suit of JOHN NEVIL (admin of property of Peter Sonman, dec'd, unadmin by Sarah Sonman, also dec'd, late exectx of sd. Peter Sonman, against property of Christopher Gildemeester, dec'd). 17 Feb, 1743. p. 395.
