Milton, Thank you for the information about George. Maybe you can answer another question. Who was the wife of James Nevil, son of your Thomas and Elizabeth Tiller Nevil? I think there may have been one "loose" James Nevil in Amherst Co. around the end of the 1700s or early 1800s, and I am trying to pin him down. Thank you also for the scanned signatures of Thomas Nevil and Wm. C. Whitehead. I agree that what has been interpreted as a middle initial C for Thomas Nevil is actually a large flouish on the N in Nevil. I can understand how it could seem to be a C, particularly in a poor copy. In the copy of Wm. C. Whitehead's signature, James Nevil's is also shown. Is that James the one who was Thomas's son?
