No problem, Milton. I'm glad you joined in with that info. Jan, I show that George W. Nevil, son of Reuben Sr., was born 1832, and married to Sara CROSS. I have a copy of a document showing that Gorg. W. Nevils was on list of Deserters on April 1, 1863 from Co. E, 1 Reg't West Tenn Inf (subsequently became 6 Reg't Tenn. Calv). He was listed as a Corp. He is also mentioned, along with "Bill Nevel (Old Ruben Nevel's son)", in the book "Tennessee's Last Kingdom", by Ernest R. Pounds. It is possible that he moved to Hickman County, Kentucky some time after the Civil War. From what I understand, George did not follow the other brothers (William (Bill), Reuben Jr, and Parker) to Texas in the 1880's. I just noticed something interesting about the following entry from "Marriages of Gibson County, TN". Pg. 101: "Samuel Mount to Frances Flippin, Sept. 27, 1854. R.J. Nevil, BM." It is interesting to note that Reuben's (Jr) brother, James Madison Nevil, married Luzania MOUNT. So it might have been the case that Samuel MOUNT was Luzania's brother, and that is why Reuben (Jr) served as bondsman. But perhaps it was James' father, Reuben Sr., that served as the bondsman.
