    1. [NEVILLE-L] Cecil Co, MD Edward Nev -- New Records Found
    2. I found a few "new" records on Edward Neville of Cecil county yesterday. These are the earliest records that I'm aware of. I think that this info reduces the probability that we descend form Dr. Jean de Neufville of New Rochelle, NY. The dates that I have for the Dr. Jean de Neufville are (1639-1712). My understanding is that his son John de Neufville aka Neville (b. 1678 - bef. 1710); died young, leaving young sons Edward (?-?) and John (?-?). So, Edward of New Rochelle could not have been born before 1694 or so and this is only 2 years before Edward Nevill of Cecil County appears as a debtor to John Hyland (note: the Hylands are a prominant family in Cecil Co--the Nevills have business dealings with them well into the 1700s). A few of the names that he is listed with do sound French: Davillard, Linare, Beavill, Beaviss, and maybe even Beaston and/or Sequence.
