Has anyone researched this fellow? Has he been discussed on the Neville-List before and I just couldn't find enough free space to fit it in? He and Edward de Neufville of New Rochelle New York are the only two Edwards that I am aware of prior to Edward Nevill of Cecil Co, MD in 1721 and Edward Nevell of Dorchester Co, MD in 1699. Virginia Magazine of History and Biography. 1916: "A Courte held XXXIth of November 1625...Mr. Crispe demanded his Tobacco of Mr. Nevell ...." p. 149 "Thomas Cryspe, gent., sworne & examined sayeth that he was witness to A Covenant when Edward Nevell did Covenant to deliver one hundred pound weight of Tobacco to Robert Newman uppon theire arivall at Canada, in consideracon yt the said Edward Nevell had a bill signed [?] over to him by [Captain] John Ward for the repayment of ye said hundred waight of Tobacco at this Cropp. And fourther sayeth yt when they arrived at Canada Robert newman demanded ye Tobacco of Mr. Nevell at damarells Cove [off the coast of Maine] ..." p. 239 "William ffoster sworne and Examined sayeth, that he this deponent demanded of Mr. Nevell at Canada beinge abord the Swann, wherfor Mr Cornishe was hunge, unto whom Nevell answered he was ung for rascally boye wrongfully, And that he hath heard Mr Nevell say so divers tymes." p. 340 Virginia Magazine of History and Biography. 1917: footnote on p. 121: "...the cutting off of the ears of Edward Nevell for the...offence of criticising the government for Cornishe's death." There's probably more on this guy, but I didn't have time to look much more. Peter Nevill
