Larry, Thank you for the correction on John Nevill's birthdate. How did you establish that the John Nevill in Beaufort, NC and the one in GA are the same man? I have been looking for evidence that Jacob's father was the James Nevill who lived in Beaufort Co. in the early 1700s? Did you find a record which gives the relationship? Does it mention Moses? Thank you, too, for answering my question about the Williams. I am sending some information below related to the Nevill-Williams connection in Beaufort Co., NC. Do you want me to send you copies of the pages in the 370-Year History of One Neville Family which are related to Jacob and Nicy's descendants, or do you already have this information? I have the following which gives an idea of when James arrived in NC: 1697, July 5, JAMES NEVILLE, himself 2 passages, Dorothy his wife, Rebecca, Richard, James, John and Thomas Neville. At Edenton, North Carolina") Note at the bottom of the page states the following: "For every person brought into the Colony or Province, the party inducing them to come was entitled to a grant of 50 acres of land; this was called 'Headrights.'" Other references found on same page on the same date (July 5, l697): Nicholas Tyler, 2 passages, Katharine his wife, Kellam, Mary, Rose, Ann, William and Katharine Tyler, Archibald MCCarrell, Daniel Bathell, Farnifold Green, in all 12.
