Benjamin Nevill gave land to his three oldest sons on Jan. 22, 1830; 105 acres on Elk River to Robertson, 77 acres to Hardin and 127 acres on McGowan's or Prairie Creek to Pleasant. Benjamin Nevill weighed 400 pounds and had special furniture built for him, he supervised his plantation from the second story porch of his house. He died Feb. 28, 1838 in Coffee County, TN. Linda
