Hi Mary...I just read your posting with interest. I am researching my NEVILLE line. Let's see if any of the below rings a bell with you. I just wonder if your NY NEVILLEs are of my line. I descend from Agnes G. NEVILLE b. 18 Jan 1799 in Ernestown twp., Addington Co., ON, Can. & her husband Elijah HOFFMAN/HUFFMAN. Agnes was the dau. of Anthony NEVILLE b. 7 May 1769, probably Ireland, and Margaret SWITZER. Margaret was b. 12 May 1772 in Courtmatrix, County Limerick, Ireland. In the book, "To Their Heirs Forever" by Eula Lapp, published by the Mika Publishing Co., Belleville, ON 1977, pg 309; it says: " Peter's (SWITZER) daughter Margaret, and her husband Anthony NEVILLE, had set out from the Cambridge-Arlington district (I believe this is in the Camden Valley area northeastern NY) in 1793 with two cows, an ox team, and a sleigh on which they piled all the furniture it would hold. The trek took them six weeks! For eight years the NEVILLEs lived in Fredericksburgh (ON), then they too moved to the 6th concession of Ernestown (ON) near her Switzer relatives."
