    3. There is a baptismal record for Joseph Nevil, son of Joseph Nevil & his wife, 2 Dec 1733, Abingdon Parish, Gloucester Co, VA that likely is the Fauquier Co. Joseph's son. We can prove that Joseph Neville Sr. had a son George (Fauquier Deeds 1:430). George had a daughter Mary who married John Rosser, as proven by his will. This Mary appears to be Mary, daughter of George & Hannah Nevill, born 20 Nov. 1726 as recorded in Christ Church Parish, Middlesex Co., VA. A daughter Elizabeth is recorded as born 3 Dec 1728 & d 23 Dec 1728 & the mother Hannah is in the church record as buried 31 Dec 1728. Both of George's marriages were also at Christ Church. He married Ann Symes 22 June 1725 & Mary Gibbs 20 June 1729. None of the children of the second marriage are recorded. He may have moved shortly after marriage. Note the following. The Fauquier Co. Land causes (4 Nov 1809) has a deposition by Mary Rosser aged 86 who says her father removed from Gloucester when she was a small girl and was overseer for Col. Page at a place where Francis Whiting now lives for four years & then moved to his own place where Ambrose Barnett afterward lived and died. She married when 19 & her husband died 25 or 30 years ago when she was 77 or 78 years old. Ambrose Barnett married Judith Neville, 18 July 1766 (bd), Fauquier Co., VA. She too is listed in the will of her father George Neville. I suspect we are not descendants from John of the Ark & Dove, but instead are related to the Gloucester/Middlesex families, perhaps descendants of Richard Neville. There is a John Neville, infant, who received land in Kingston Parish, Gloucester Co. from Duncan Bohannan in 1675. I think he was a son of James and grandson of Richard the immigrant who was transported to VA by Capt. Stone prior to 11 Jan. 1641. My theory & interpretation of the records, is in Volume One #1 (Winter 1998) of the Neville Heritage Review. There is also a Richard Nevill in Middlesex Co. Order Books, 1675, 1677, 1679. I don't know how he connects. On Wed, 1 Aug 2001 18:38:42 EDT Marylee144@aol.com writes: > Hi Shirley, Where do you think Joseph was born? I hadn't heard this > > information.
