I did some more checking on Winifred (Oldham) Neville. As near as I can determine, no one has documented her patriot service for DAR or SAR, even though she is listed as a lady patriot on the NSSAR CD-ROM, 2000 edition, under the name of Mrs. Winifred (Oldham) Neville, wife of Col. John Neville. At our local library I found a set of books: NOTES AND QUERIES HIRSTORICAL, BIOGRAPHICAL AND GENEALOGICAL RELATING CHIEFLY To INTERIOR PENNSYLVANIA, edited by William Henry Egle. In the Annual Volume, 1898, pp. 213-214 is a lengthy article titled: "Matrons of the Revolution: Winifred Oldham Neville." It tells about her supporting role as the wife of Col. John Neville. I have contacted both DAR & SAR national headquarters for any further information regarding Winifred's service. If they will accept this reference in Egle's volume as proof of her service, then her descendants should be able to complete lineage papers to the DAR & SAR under her service, separate from her husband.
