John starts to appear in 1823 1823 Nevel, John Snr, 0 slaves, 1 horse Nevel, John J, 0 slaves, 2 horses 1824 Nevel, John Snr, 0 slaves, 1 horse 1825 Nevell, John, 1 slave, 2 horses Nevell, John, 0 slaves, 1 horse 1826 Nevel, John Sr, 1 slave, 2 horses Nevel, John Jr, 0 slaves, 1 horse 1827 Nevel, John Senr, 1 black 12+, 0 blacks 16+, 2 horses Nevel, John Jr, 0 blacks 12+, 0 blacks 16+, 2 horses 1828 Nevel, John Snr, 2 whites 16+, 1 black 12+, 0 blacks 16+, 2 horses Nevel, John Jr, 1 white 16+, 2 horses 1829 Nevell, John Sr, 3 whites, - blacks 12+, 1 black 16+, 2 horses Nevell, Isaac, 1 white Nevell, John Jr, 1 white, 0 blacks, 2 horses I didn't do later years. When you write up your report here are some possible points you could make Mary Nevill is listed as a daughter in the 1787 Hardy Co. will of Adam Hider and it was witnessed by Mary's father-in-law Joseph Nevill. That will also lists a son Isaac Hider and according to the History of Hardy County 1786-1986 by Richard K. MacMaster, p113, Hider & Neville were in the cattle business together. The informant for death certificate of John Neville who died 11 Feb 1856 of old age was his son-in-law Daniel Ammen. Shirley Langdon Wilcox
