Actually, if you have the names of Mary Faulkner Elliott's children, would you post them to the Neville list? I've not been able to find them in several years of searching. (Mary is the name I'm looking for, out of 12 children, there probably is at least one Mary--and maybe she's the one who married Thomas "second fork" Dodson, therefore Joseph Neville Sr.--who married Mary Faulkner Elliot-- could be Thomas Second Fork's father-in-law through a step daughter. If you can understand the preceeding sentence, you can understand all the Dodson-Neville convolutions over which we've been struggling for years!) :-) Thanks, Michelle Ule Northern CA
Michelle, Have you had time to look into the Montgomery Co., TN Elliotts since we last corresponded? I think I have noted before that Faulkner Elliott was a name found in early 1800s Montgomery Co. records. George Nevill (Fauquier Co., VA>maybe Rutherford Co., NC>Greenville Co., SC>Montgomery Co., TN), the probable brother of Joseph Neville who married Mary Elliot, lived in the same neighborhood as Faulkners and Elliotts (his "step-cousins"?). It's possible Faulkner Elliott may have been one of Mary Faulkner Elliott Neville's children by her first marriage. If he was, the probate of his mother's estate or his estate might give clues to who his stepbrothers and sisters were. If you have not found a probate of her estate in VA, you might find references to it in Montgomery Co., TN, if any of the Elliotts in that county are her descendants. Also, you might want to look in Robertson Co., TN. Faulkner Elliott lived very near that county and may have moved over the county line. I know we discuss this about once a year, so please pardon me if I sound like a broken record:-) I really have intended to do some look-ups on these families in the Clarksville-Montgomery Co. library family files, but when I am there, I am usually spending time with our grandson. The library does have good family files and will copy them by request.
