There is a new book out "The Neville Family of North Carolina" by David Trimble, a Neville descendant. He does not have email, but if you contact me I will tell you how to contact him. Linda

    3. I'm still looking for the Irish branch of the Neville Family. Patrick, James, John, Michael. They came to Northeast Ohio circa 1840-1850. Is anyone researching this branch? 3. Linda, I'd be very interested in the North Carolina Neville family book. If you'd send me Mr. Trimble's address I'd greatly appreciate it. > Was this David C. Nevill(s) David Crockett Nevill(s)... I don't know if they're the same man, but I am excited to learn of someone with the right name and middle initial! Can you tell me where can I find more info on Crockett? Surviving family from Texas have no recollection or stories about this ancestor, who I found in the 1850 census for Houston County, TX. He (age 42) and his wife, Mary A.(38), are listed as having been born in TN, their three sons ages six to sixteen, are listed as having been born in Alabama. His occupation is shown as "C.P. Minister" (...anybody out there familiar with that term?) When I backtracked from this discovery into earlier census records for Alabama I find him in Lawrence County in 1830 & 1840. There are four Nevel/Nevels in the 1820 TN census with sons 10-16yrs (right age for David C.): Joseph Nevel in White County, TN John and Solomon Nevel in Montgomery County, TN Benjamin Nevels in Franklin County, TN >...and was this Benjamin Nevill(s) the same Benjamin that was born 1779 in NC. died > 1838 in Coffee Co., TN.? It's purely a guess based on the plural form of the name, which was used consistently in the line I'm concerned with: Nevills. I would love to be able to connect David C. Nevills with his father and mother, and welcome any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks, Jim
