Hi there ..... I don't have any additional information on Curtis Elliot however I am going to forward your post to the Neville List as there are those on the list much more acquainted with Mary Faulkner and Thomas Elliot than I. Mary Faulkner Elliott was the second wife of Joseph Neville. If any on the Neville list have dates and places for the Thomas Elliott children, would appreciate your sending them to me.....thanx guys! buddcs1@aol.com wrote: > I have reason to believe that the Curtis Elliott in your research might be my > g.g.g.g. grandfather. Ren, You don't seem to have our branch at all. I'm not too sure of any of the information I have, as much of it was handed down orally, but when I get a chance, I'll post it here (though I think I have before). Kate
Ren, I went to the below site and uploaded my family file. I hope that I did it right. Several years ago when this list was formed I was asked to keep a record of the ancestors and descendants on the list. Since there is so much confusion in the Neville family tree, I tried to keep an "unofficial" record of the List members and their branches. Our list membership has grown over the years an many of the members are not listed in my "unofficial" accounting. With the exceptions of living members statistics, (evidently Rootsweb will not post living persons information) what I have on our family has been posted to cyberspace. Several times a week I get "hits" to this site with upgrades, new information and corrections. In many cases, lost cousins have been brought together. This file changes weekly and I guess now I classify it as an unoffical work in progress. There is a link to Worldconnect/Rootsweb below that I would appreciate your opening, inserting your name and or recent family members name, and if you are on it, check the information I have on your family for additions and or corrections. If you have Neville connections and are not mentioned or your family connected to the file and wish to be, send me the information privately (no descendants lists allowed on rootsweb) and I will create a folder and add your family to the site. If you have a GEDCOM and wish to be added, send it to me and I will merge it with my file (yuck). If you cannot transfer information electronically and wish any of your family information not already listed in file to be posted, send hard copies to: Ren Neville 351 Central Park Place Brentwood, CA. 94513 (guess that take care of winter) Take care.......Ren -- ======================================================================== Ren and Judy Neville 925-516-4976 voice/FAX "If God so clothe the grass of the field..... shall He not much more clothe you" MATT. 6:30 "My fathers badge, old Nevil's crest, the rampant bear chain'd to the ragged staff" Henry VI, part 2, verse 1........William Shakespeare http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=johnneville Ne vile velis "Form no mean wish"

Surnames: Neville, Valiquet Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YA3.2ACEB/55.1.1 Message Board Post: Do you know of a Mary Neville who married Robert Valiquet? Robert was my ggrandfather, born in St. Martin, Quebec in 1860. He married Mary Neville (date unknown) and then he remarried in 1898 to Mary Agnes McGonigal at St Johns Chrysostum Parish in Arnprior, Ontario Canada. It was listed on his marriage certificate that he was the widower of Mary Neville - so apparently she died some time before that. This is all the information I have on Mary Neville and would appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks. I can be reached at tvkenn@aol.com.

Yes, I was aware that the Ark and Dove Society is still in operation. From what I understand they only hold a dinner once a year for their members. It is held in Maryland, so normally only those who live locally can attend. It is a very small group of members from what I gather. I don't know how well they check check for proof or scrutinize their members. In the book on The Nevilles of England and the U.S. by Mrs. John Hart Wilson, there is some mention of the Ark and Dove Society and a copy of a letter that she received from their registrar around 40 years ago. It is possible that Mrs. Wilson joined their society. Also, I think that Mrs. Walter Wayne Adams (O. Josephine Hill Adams) also may have joined. The latter wrote me about the Ark and Dove Society, and I alway had it in my mind that we could probably join (even though some of the proof is now seen as "iffy" on the earlier generations). I'd be interested to know if anyone of our numbers currently belongs to the Society or is able to join. Thanks for bringing that to the forefront again. I have left that on a back burner as well. The girls married in Knox county could be daughters or sisters of George or none of the above!? I have land records that put George W. Neville; Elihu Neville ; and John Barrett [Patsy Neville] all living in Jackson Co Al. in land touching each other. If G. Morgan lived next to these people, it could be a clue? BLM records are not currantly available? > Yes they do look similar. I don't have George Nevilles in my names any where > so I can't make a connection. > > Thanks for the reply. > > Paul
Ren, This is pulling some memories from maybe five years ago, regarding the A&D Society. I had a few hours to spend at the Maryland Gen. Soc. located on West Monument Street, Baltimore. Enjoyed the visit and on inquiry, was told by one of the docents that the Society was/is home to the Ark and Dove Society. But on further inquiry, they could not tell me how to contact any one nor what information they might have on file for passengers on the voyage, other references. Maybe just speaking with the wrong person? While I should not have, I let it drop for the moment, and the moment has turned into years. Sounds like it is still in operation, hope so. I did a Google search just now and note where one can make e-mail inquiry. Hope someone with the Neville group lives in Baltimore and can follow through. Who knows, maybe they have all of Boogher's missing references! I'd like that. Best, Tom
Ren: Mrs Atkinson is the one who wrote to me after I had first sent an inquiry to a Mrs. Anne H. McKown, Membership The Ark and the Dove Society 3580 South River Terrace Edgewater, Md 21037 Years ago I started to apply for membership but got side tracked. Just a few months ago Mrs. McGowen wrote to me about joining and after I sent in my pedagree I got an answer from MrsAtkinson stating that she had some doubts that there was a ESTHER ASHFORD?? That was my reason for contacting the NEVILLE SOCIETY to see if anyone else had info about ESTHER. You kindly replied and when I got into roots.com There was plenty of proof to me and i don't see how the "Society' could have any doubts that ESTHER exhisted??? Well today I sent a whole raft of papers to Mrs Atkinson and we shall see what comes of it. If I get in OK if not so what. I'm just doing it as a lark and so my kids and grandkids will know a bit more about their history. \ I joined the Sons of the American Revolution several years ago for the same reason. One of my Gr Gr grandfathers was in the Penna. Malitia for 4 years during the revolution...I doubt that he did any more than march around and in looking up his records I see they fined him for missing training sessions....He never was more than a Pvt....no membership in the Cincinatti Society for me ! I have found the house he built in 1782 in Edgemont ,Pa. People still live in the place but they reciently re habed it and are selling it for over $500,000... Ted
Barbara, Yes they do look similar. I don't have George Nevilles in my names any where so I can't make a connection. Thanks for the reply. Paul

Can anyone place these Neville's for me: Malinda "Millie" Nevilles married Goan Morgan in 1797 in Knox County Tennessee (These are my ggg grandparents). Goan was born in 1780 in North Carolina. Also in the Knox County records are Nancy Nevilles who married Enoch Ferrell in 1799. (Was Nancy a sister to Malinda?) and Mrs. Martha Nevilles married to Thomas Frost in 1799(Was Martha Nevilles the girls mother?). Thomas Frost was from Virginia and died about 1807 in Anderson Tennessee. Goan Morgan lived most of his life in Jackson County Alabama and later moved with his youngest son to Wayne County Missouri. We believe he died there before his son, John R. Morgan moved to Conway County Arkansas. thanks Paul W. Hall
I have no evidence whatsoever, but doesn't this look like maybe a connection to George D. Neville that went from North Carolina to Knox Co TN to Wayne Co KY to (?Jackson Co,) AL to Effingham Co, IL and then to Missouri? George born ca 1760/65 died 1835 in MO. He had a mess of kids that I never expect to find. This is too far back for me. But it looks like a similar migration? Barbara George was in Alabama from sometime after 1811 to 1830. > Can anyone place these Neville's for me: > > Malinda "Millie" Nevilles married Goan Morgan in 1797 in Knox County Tennessee (These are my ggg grandparents).
