    2. Donna Browning
    3. Hi, I must have missed something but since I have Neville-Pollock connections this caught my eye. Who are Mary "Polly" Pollock's parentss? Donna >>> alemanktp@cs.com 07/05/01 09:12AM >>> I have been reviewing my records to see if I can I had started any research into her lineage - and so far don't. Infact, I am not sure that I have true documentation of where the "Pollock" really came from. I think that I got that from someone's shared notes. Do you know? I will keep looking and get back with you . ==== NEVILLE Mailing List ==== Please do NOT send attachments to the list. Rootsweb surname lists do not accept attachments.

    1. [NEVILLE-L] Re: NY Nevilles
    2. Hi Bobbie, My husbands ancestors were from Brownsville NY. His GGGgrandmother was Rachel Neville, married to William Williams about 1850. Rachel also had a sister Melinda. They moved to Clarksville Iowa about 1854. I have been dead ended on this line for a long time and would be overjoyed to make some progress here. We went out to NY about 4 years ago and searched the records at waterton to try and make some connections but were unable to find anything other than what we already had. Do you have any backgroung on the NeVilles? also seen it as Newell in Iowa.

    1. [NEVILLE-L] Neville/Maher/Heffernan
    2. I have a copy of a letter dated 1938 which mention that Nanno Neville left monies to the Maher siblings and that the Nevilles were also putting in a claim. I suspect that my ggrandfather, Thomas Maher, died and my ggrandmother, Honora Heffernan Maher married a Neville. The Nevilles, Mahers and Heffernans would have been from the Abbeylands, Milltown, County Kerry area of Ireland. If anyone one has a connection with the above, please contact me.

    1. [NEVILLE-L] Re: Imelda NEVILLE originally of New York City; md. James THANCRED
    2. If this is Imelda Neville, daughter of Mary and Andrew Neville, Jackson Heights--sister Muriel...my information is that she was divorced and traveled to Spain where she died at a very young age. It is possible that her sister Muriel is still living in New York. I know her husband's name was Jimmy and that they had been childhood sweethearts, married and then some tragedy and divorced. I don't know any more than this and so don't wish to be contacted.

    1. [NEVILLE-L] Re: William A. NEVILLE (b. 1832) Cherokee Indian?
    2. I believe we have the same William A. Neville in our family. William Alexander Neville was born in 1832, parents Joseph Neville and Mary Elizabeth Pollock. William married Mildred Brockman. I don't have any information on William being Cherokee but our family history has always been that there was Indian ancestry in the Neville family. Our ancestor Samuel Griffith Nevill (born in TN 1822) was a brother to William.

    1. [NEVILLE-L] William Pleasant Neville/Nancy Anderson
    2. Anyone out there part of this line? There were ten children according to Ren Neville and Jesse Lawrence's GEDCOM files. I am looking for anything further than just possibly birth and death dates, ie where they were from, occupations, photos, just any kind of info beyond just numbers. Don't get me wrong though, nothing wrong with numbers, because that is more than I had yesterday. However, I have always been more interested in who my family is, what they were like, what they looked like, how they lived, etc. This group has been so helpful and yesterday morning I only had my ggrandmother's name and guessed dates of birth and death. By last evening I had a family line back to the 1600's. Can you believe the elation I felt when I opened up that file? It is like finding a pot of gold. Thank you to all those who are willing to share their information with others! I have searched for this for quite awhile with no luck and now I have so much! THANK YOU EVERYONE! Man, life is good isn't it and people are even better! Take care, Lorri Alyea Whitehead

    2. Sorry, my James came directly from Ireland. Your Nevill line is probably from England? Most of the Neville's (sp) who settled in the south were English. Not all, though.... Good Luck, Carol in San Diego

    2. Do you have where Willie Emma died and is buried? My grandmother has told me she is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery or something like that but never have found proof of that. Willie was institutionalized in Nashville in the state hospital. Do you know what the medical reasons were that she was placed there? Also, do you have any information on John Henry Sanders? Like parents, siblings, etc.? Anything? Sorry to burden you with so many questions. I am so excited with your information you have and cannot wait to read it more. What is the best way to get all the information, by downloading the GEDCOM? Would you happen to have any photos of the Neville's, such as Willie or siblings or parents? Besides just the facts, does the GEDCOM give out more information such as locations, occupations, any other information? This is new to me so I wasn't sure what to do to get the most of the information and the best possible way. Any help you are able to lend to me is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Lorri Alyea Whitehead
