Potter Date: Wed, 9 Aug 2000 07:36:33 -0700 From: Virginia.SOUTHAS@esca.com To: NEVADA-L@rootsweb.com My great grandfather, Benjamin F. Potter was born in Nevada in 1867 so says the 1900 Census of San Franicsco, California. All I know about his parents is that his father was born in England and his mother in Massachussetts, again the S.F. 1900 Census. I have no names for my gr gr grandparents. Now, I understand that in 1867 birth/death records were not kept in Nevada. I searched the 1870 Nevada census, nothing. Searched thie 1880 Census and found a couple whose birth places matched Benjamin's parents but no mention of any children. Calculation of the woman's age would have put her at around 16years old if she had indeed been Ben's mother. Not improbable. So, anyone have any ideas where I can look to try and track down them down? Thank you very much, Virginia Bellevue, Washington
