    3. >Hi All, > I have gone over the 1920 census for Grass Valley four times and I can't >find Joseph Morrish. I don't have a soundex. According to his obituary, moved >to Grass Valley in 1880 and died in 1921. He lived on Colfax Road. I couldn't >find him in 1900, either. How can a man avoid the census twice? >Diane Hall Diane, try looking for him in the voter's registrations/great registers. It could be possible he was missed twice, maybe he left for a short while? It is hard to guess what could have happened. If there is not anyone on the list who can look it up in Nevada County, write to: Doris Foley Historical Library, 211 N. Pine St. Nevada City, 95959. We can have a volunteer to over to Searls Library and look it up for you. Can't make copies. We don't have the soundex here either, just the census films. Also they can check Assessment books, but you have to know what town he lived in, as they are by town. Maria E. Brower, Grass Valley
