Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Nv/Unknown/208 Surname: Yonker, Younker, Dunn, Harris, Montgomery, George, Hazlett, York ------------------------- I am trying to find family of a Jesse Younker/Yonker. He was born in Illinois in December of 1872 and worked as a farm laborer. In the early 1900's he left Illinois and headed west and the family states that he sent word that he had married a Native American Indian lady in Nevada and was doing fine and then they never heard from him again. His parents were Joseph and Martha "Mattie" Younker. If anyone can connect with this name or know of this name would like to hear from you. Sharon sharon1@midwest.net

Posted on: Unknown County Nv. Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Nv/Unknown/207 Surname: Rochford ------------------------- My great grandfather, Michael D. Rochford married Catherine McGovern in Chicago,Illinois, after he ran away from his father's homestead in Zenia Ohio circa 1869 because his father's plow horse died while he was plowing a field. Then he and Catherine moved to Nevada circa 1875 through 1883. He was supposed to have lived in Nevada the whole time. We wonder if he was ever involved in founding the town now known as Rochford in South Dakata? He and Catherine had nine children, four of whom were born in Nevada: Lawrence b. 8/1878; Kittie b 3/1881; Joseph b. 11/ 1881; and Aggie M. b. 5/1883. They then moved to 7009 Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Ill. by 1883. We also know that there was one Samuel Rochford living in Hamilton City, White Pines County Nevada at the time on 1870.

I am trying to break through one of the may dead ends in my efforts to discover all of the descendants of my immigrant g-g-grandparents. Like most of us, I lack the ability to visit every state vital records office personally so I am asking for your help. Could someone please check the state register for the death of George LAUSCHER? DOB Sept. 1885 in WI DOD After 1944 - place unknown George's parents were Hubert LAUSCHER and Mary Ann STOFFELS. George is not listed on the Social Security death index. He divorced his wife and left his home in MI about 1934 when his youngest son was 3. He is now 70 and never heard from or saw his father again. Since I am not a regular subscriber to all state lists, if you have any information that could help me discover George's death date and resting place, would you please e-mail me personally. In advance, thank you. Janet Mihelich
-------- Original Message -------- Subject: {not a subscriber} Benjamin F. Potter Date: Wed, 9 Aug 2000 07:36:33 -0700 From: Virginia.SOUTHAS@esca.com To: NEVADA-L@rootsweb.com My great grandfather, Benjamin F. Potter was born in Nevada in 1867 so says the 1900 Census of San Franicsco, California. All I know about his parents is that his father was born in England and his mother in Massachussetts, again the S.F. 1900 Census. I have no names for my gr gr grandparents. Now, I understand that in 1867 birth/death records were not kept in Nevada. I searched the 1870 Nevada census, nothing. Searched thie 1880 Census and found a couple whose birth places matched Benjamin's parents but no mention of any children. Calculation of the woman's age would have put her at around 16years old if she had indeed been Ben's mother. Not improbable. So, anyone have any ideas where I can look to try and track down them down? Thank you very much, Virginia Bellevue, Washington

Hi ! I'm looking for the phone numbers/addresses of any of the following: Donna Kopp -- in either Sparks/Reno Gary Kopp -- in either Sparks/Reno Nat("d"?)alie Kopp Bellis (husband's name is Arthur) -- in either Sparks/Reno I believe these people would be my cousins and I cannot find them in any of the databases that I've tried thus far. Thanks for any and all help,
Poring through a family history written by my wife's g-grandaunt, I came across the following statement concerning one Milton Monroe Comstock: "Later Milton came to Nevada, settling in the town of Belleview" I can find no mention of a town by the name of Belleview in Nevada. Does anyone know where this town is/was or what it could possbly be referring to. I'm pretty sure Milton was in the Carson City/Virginia City region, silver prospecting. He died very suspiciously just after writing to his daughter in California that he had made some kind of "find" and that they would never want again. Less than a week later he was dead and all his daughter ever received was a box of a few personal belongings. If you can help, please let me know. TIA, Ian Feavearyear p.s. I've just discovered a reference to Belleville Cemetery in Mineral county on Rootsweb.com ... could anyone tell me where in NV this cemetery is located, I cannot find a town Belleville.
