Dear List, I'm looking for anyone who might have information on John W. "Wes" Smith (1851-1924) who was a Rural Route Delivery mailman in Pender from roughly 1903-1924. He was born in Iowa and moved to Pender with his family in fall 1899/spring 1900 from the Craig/Oakland area of Burt County. He was married to Matilda J. Davis (1858-1927?) and they "adopted" a daughter Dollie May Brown (known as Dollie May Smith) (b. 10/8/1892) while they were living in the Craig/Oakland area (she was my great-grandmother.)
