    3. Dear List, I'm looking for anyone who might have information on John W. "Wes" Smith (1851-1924) who was a Rural Route Delivery mailman in Pender from roughly 1903-1924. He was born in Iowa and moved to Pender with his family in fall 1899/spring 1900 from the Craig/Oakland area of Burt County. He was married to Matilda J. Davis (1858-1927?) and they "adopted" a daughter Dollie May Brown (known as Dollie May Smith) (b. 10/8/1892) while they were living in the Craig/Oakland area (she was my great-grandmother.) I have photos of him showing that he was a law enforcement office of some sort in the early 1900's. He lived for many years in the Pender area. Also Phillip had a twin brother Jacob Cable but he lived in Rapid City, Pennington Co, SD and died on January 01, 1948. He was born June 02, 1865 and died November 04, 1949. Are there any sources locally that can provide information on an obit or anything that might give me more information? Any leads would be gratefully appreciated.
