The family was said to have moved from Russia to Friend in 1886. Mother - Mary Hardt was buried May 3, 1914 in or near Friend. Son - David H. Hardt, born Jul. 2 1868 in Russia, married Katherine Rockel in Friend in 1887. He was a drug store owner in Friend before moving to Hastings, Adams County, Nebraska.
