    1. [NESALINE] Broadwell - McGuire- Van Aucken- Gillespie
    2. Have a slim chance of trying to find this, but hopefully someone out there might be familar with these names. Rachel Elizabeth Rose (went by Elizabeth - Rachel and Lizzy) was married to Oliver Broadwell in Jasper County Iowa on De. 1 1856. By the late 1860's she was in Saline County NE. 1873, Oliver died and is buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Most likely grave marked by a wooden cross and it was lost in a prairie fire. 1875, Rachel is given widow rights to the land. In 1877, Rachel was living in Lancaster County NE and sold the land to a Morris Vaughn or Vaughan Morris also of Lancaster County. In 1880, there isn't a Broadwell in Nebraska that matches the Broadwell names. In August of 1881, Lizzy White marries Alvin J. McGuire in Lincoln, no parents listed. But clue here is her father dies in 1882, and in 1883, a quit claim deed was filed and her name was listed as Mrs. Alvin J. McGuire (MeGuire) of Lancaster County. Rachel and Oliver Broadwell had the following children: Caroline (Cora?) Harvey, Eliza J. , Simeon and George. George married in Lancaster County in 1896 and in 1900 was in Hall County NE, 4th Ward of Grand Island Pct. ...... can't find any of the other children. On the marriage for Lizzy to McGuire, witnesses are Eliza J Van Auken and William Gillespie. I feel that Eliza J is her daughter..... but can't find a thing on the 1900 census for them. Is anyone out there have info that might help solve this puzzle! Did she divorce McGuire and remarry? Where did the other children go. Sorry for the long post! donna
