A respected citizen of Wilber has been summoned to appear before his Maker and he had answered the call. The angel of Death closed his eyes in the sleep that knows no waking on Sunday night at 10 o'clock. Mr. Brabec was a fine gentleman and his death will be mourned by hundreds of dear friends in Saline county. More than twenty-four years ago he settled in Saline county and took up a homestead alongside of that of Frank Nedela. Up to the time of his death the old place had not passed from his possession. His neighbors loved him, and those who had but a passing acquaintance with him respected him. For the past three years he has been a resident and prominient business man of Wilber - the proprietor of the opera house at that place. Dropsy was the cause of his death, and the internment took place in the old cemetery west of Wilber, a beautiful resting place, Sunday. Mr. Brabec was over fifty years of age. He leaves a wife and five children - three daughters and two sons - to whom we extend our heartfeld sympathy.
