Wilhelm (William) ENDORF came to Saline County with his brother Frederick Endorf. William m. Fredericka (Wahl) Otto, a widow with five children. They were established on a homestead in Olive precinct near Tobias by 1880. Together William and Fredericka had five more children: Henry Frederick (my grandfather), Amalia (Ollie) who m. John Bartels, Marie (Mamie) who m. George Lindekugel, Emma who m. John Schmidt, and Theodore (Ted) who m.Clara Sophia Kollmann. Though the family had connections to Zion Lutheran Church, they are buried in the Tobias City Cemetery. Johann FILTER and his wife Luise Dorothea (DUBE) FILTER came from Germany in 1894 and settled near Western in Saline Co. They are buried in Plainview Cemetery in Western. They came to America with their children: Marie Louise Magdalene Filter (my grandmother), John Filter, Augusta Filter who m. John SCHNELL, George Filter who m. Lizzie (HOWE), and Raymond who m. Mae. My grandparents Henry Frederick Endorf and Marie Filter Endorf married in Saline Co. in 1904 and moved to South Dakota after the birth of several children. They apparently lost contact with their families of origin making my research more difficult. I would very much like to correspond with anyone with connections to these families. Specifically my goals include: --contact with the descendants of FRED ENDORF of Tobias, NE --contact with anyone who can establish connections with the DUBE or DUBA family --contact with descendants of Emma and John SCHMIDT of Daykin in Jefferson Co. Thank you, Jan Durst
