Ne Obituaries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ne/SalineObits?read=8 Surname: SMITH, TRUESDAIL, MORGAN, TRIMMER ------------------------- >From "Saline County Gazette", Tobias, Saline co., Nebraska dated 6 Oct. 1899, page 1, column 4: DIED--At his farm northeast of town, Saturday, Sept. 29, 1899 Asbury SMITH, aged 78 years, 9 months and 15 days. He was buried Sunday in the Atlanta cemetery and the funeral sermon was preached by Rev. TRACE of Dorchester in the Atlanta Center church. Mr. SMITH was born in Ohio and came to this state fifteeh years ago last June, and has lived on his farm near Tobias ever since. He was converted at 18 years of age and has been an active christian ever since, and was a member of the United Brethern church when he died. Mr. Smith was well know in this community and was respected by all who knew him. He leaves a wife and seven children, who were all at home when he died.
