Ne Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ne/Saline?read=23 Surname: KINZIE, PITTS, HATCH ------------------------- I am looking for descendants of the KINZIE families who settled near Wilber Ne. in the 1860's, coming from Indiana, and more Kinzies following, in the 1880's. I am particularly interested in JAMES KINZIE and his wife LYDIA HATCH KINZIE, who are buried at the Oak Grove Cemetery, at Dewitt Ne., Saline Co. James Kinzie b. 1816 d. 1910, was a brother to my great great grandfather DAVID HALL KINZIE, who with his wife, DIDAMIE ALCINDA PITTS KINZIE, are listed as 1890 Jefferson Co. Ne. farmers. They are 2, of at least 9 children of WILLIAM and REBECCA KINZIE, who were from the states of Ill., Va., Mich., and Ind. The names of the children that I do have are: MARGARET, b. 1812; MARY JANE b. 1814; JAMES b. 1816; ELIZABETH JANE b. 1821; DANIEL b. 1823; ISSAC b. 1825; DAVID HALL b. 1827; HENRY C. b. 1830; & ERMINTA b. 1831. Am interested in locating as many descendants of the extended families as possible. Looking for the burial sites of David, Didamie, and David's father William Kinzie. William was born 1791, Chicago, and came along to Ne. with them, losing his horses along the way, and having to hitch up his cow to finish the trip. William is supposedly buried in Ne., but there are many arguments about that, saying he is buried elsewhere. Any help would be appreciated.
