He was the son of Thomas Peterson and Mary Wright. Admiral married Sarah E Moffitt on Oct 31, 1880 in Dorchester, Saline Co. Sarah E Moffitt was born abt 1858 at New Rutland, Lasalle County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Andrew Moffitt and Ruth Ann Blackburn who were both of Dorchester. Her parents are buried in the main cemetery there. Admiral Peterson and Sarah(Sadie) Moffitt later moved to Grand Junction, Mesa Co. Colorado. Admiral had served as a Post Master in Dorchester at one time. Andrew Moffitt was president of the GAR in Dorchester. Admiral Peterson was a brother of my greatgrandfather Francis Marion Peterson who moved to Michigan about the turn of the century.
