Ne Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Ne/Saline/10133 Surname: ------------------------- I have walked the cemetery seeking ancestors, but it's been a while ago, and that name is not one I would have remembered. The Saline County Genealogical Society may have a book in the works on cemetery listings, but I am not aware of one. You might want to check the links at the county resource page and see if they can be contacted regarding this subject. You're lucky, as rural cemeteries go, it's not overly large, probably several hundred burials. It remains fairly active, and is maintained.

    3. Posted on: Saline Co. Ne Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ne/Saline/10130 Surname: Picha, Hanzal ------------------------- There were some Hanzal cousins in St. Paul, Alb. and Wm. who were cousins somehow with the Picha branch I'm trying to trace. It was rumored that a Frank Picha moved to Pleasant Hill, (Dale?) which is near Crete. I have no idea if they can be connected at this point. Frank Picha was a brother of my ancestor Matt Picha, who finally settled in Richland Center, WI. Other siblings include John F. and Antoinette who lived in St. Paul, along with Alb. Hanzal, 755 Logan Street, and Wm. Hanzal, 679 Canton Street, St. Paul. These addresses were found in a 1911 address book of Matt's.

(Pleasant Dale?) He immigrated to US from Bohemia, possibly Novasedla, maybe around 1870. His brother Matt immigrated in 1874 and lived in the Twin Cities, then moved to Lacrosse County, WI, and finally Richland County, WI where he died in 1928. Other siblings John F. and Antoinette lived in St. Paul. Any Picha information greatly appreciated.

Their daughter Rosa married a William Kortright in 1882 and daughter Mary wed Samuel Dunning in 1886. After his wife's death, Milton also married a Dunning, Charlotte (Lottie) Dunning who died in the 1920's in Colorado. Milton was the overseer of the county poor farm in the 1880's, and according to a death notice in the newspaper, had also ran a hotel. He was Civil War vet and was a member of the Coats GAR Post 107 in Dorchester. Thanks!
