Can anyone answer this persons question? Thanks; Fred ================= Begin forwarded message ================= From: mrudebusch@juno.com (Merle A Rudebusch) To: fritz@aztec.asu.edu Subject: Saline Co. Cemeteries Date: Tue, 1 Jan 2002 23:32:12 -0600 Fred: I have some questions about the Summit cemetery, and Brush Creek, are they one in the same, or are there two different cemeteries? To explain, I am building a database of Civil War Veterans for the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, which includes all veterans buried in Nebraska. We hope this database will be on the Nebraska SUV Website, as well as being merged with the National SUV database which will be on the National Website at http://suvcw.org I have been taking some GPS readings in some of the cemeteries and find your readings are close, but I am working with tenths of a second, as we are taking headstone readings, and the USGS readings are rounded off. I have some variation on the Andrews cemetery, as it seems your reading is the St. Josephs reading and they are a mile apart. If you want, I could give you the readings I have, but I have not really covered the county yet. We will have our members walking all the cemeteries taking a survey of all the headstones of the CW veterans to see what kind they have an the condition. We were able to get a headstone for a Veteran in Friend this November that did not have one. We are also looking at driving directions vs Range and Township readings since most people will not have plot maps, unless they take time to look them up before going out, and we add that information to the record of each veteran. I think the Summit cemetery is close to Wilber, but did not locate it until I looked at your information and compared it to the Delorm Atlas which has the GPS grids. They were married in Saline county between 1879-1883. Philip died in 1927 but Jule lived well into her 90's. I am guessing that she died in the late 1940's or 1950's. I am looking for obituaries, but any information would be appreciated. Thanks

According to my notes, he was born on the Atken farm, 1/4 mile east of Friend, Nebraska, 1/2 mile from Alice Rosetta Olmsted's cousin's place at 1:15 am by R.J. Farwell. His obit states he was born on the Smith farm. Alice Rosetta Olmstead is my great grandmother, wife of Charles Grandison Skinner, whose occupations included custom combiner, blacksmith, and farmer. If there is any record of them being in the area during the years 1913-1916 (tax, birth, etc...) please reply. I went to Friend and the one person I needed to talk with was in Kearney (where I live) that day. Thanks

I know that there were five Otto children. The 1880 census lists Willie, age 13, Herman, age 11, Johnnie, age 9, Lizzie, age 7 (later married Wm. Bartels), and another one that was illegible to the person who read the census for me--could be Frank. Herman and Lizzie stayed in the Tobias area; the others left. In the probate for Wilhelm Endorf, the children are listed as Elizabeth Bartels Klinemeyer (a second husband?), Frank Otto of Western, NE, Herman Otto of Wilcox, NE, William Otto of Tobias, NE, and John Otto of Bladen, NE. This was in 1916. I will appreciate anything you can find. Thanks.

One of his sisters was Anna Hejl Halada. Anna had one son, Edward Halada who later married Helen Kasl. Edward has since passed away. If you would like any more information, please contact me. Anna was my great grandmother, therefore Joseph Hejl was my great uncle. If you have any information in the form of geneology about the Hejl family, I would appreciate the links to that information.
