Can anyone help Alice locate the building where E.H. Ott & Co. Dealer in Hardware, Stoves, Tinware was located? (around 1915-1925). Unfortunately, I think it must have been after the 1915 Columbus directory and before the 1930 Columbus directory. Alice has a nice picture of the building if that would help anyone recognize the façade (looks like maybe early 11th street location?). Would the Platte County Historical society have anything? This would be the family of Ernst Henry Ott and Dora C. Ott. A sister & I are coming to IA & NE to see what background info we can find. Our grandfather had a hardware store there, Ott's Hardware and Tin. We have a picture of the building, brick 1 story and the building next to it also looks as tho it says Ott on it. We have no clue where it might be, altho we have grandmas home address and found out it recently sold. We would really like to know if the Hardware Store building still exists, and hoping you might know, or could guide us to someone who does. My grandparents were E.H. Ott and Dora C Ott. Grandpa died in 1927 at St Mary's Hosp & Gma in 1946. Dad was Wallace Ott born in 1909 (in Iowa) moved to NE early and graduated from HS in Columbus and worked as a "soda jerk", I think Tooleys and later for Nash Dietz & Nash Finch.
