Cris........do you have a subscription to Ancestry? There are at least 13 people who are researching Maurice Sr. and Jr. One lists as many as 10 sources for info. All of them have the same birth date, and Kerry, Limerick Ireland as birthplace, then settled Platte Co. You should check it out or have someone else do it. You might get really lucky with someone elses research like I have. I am not saying the finds are definite.....but can't hurt to try. This is in the Family Tree link.
