Hi Sherri Thank you so much for the suggestions, some I have tried.I will go in the order as you wrote. 1.) I do have all the census but somehow missed the entry for 1842, all entries I found in the past stated 1836.I'll have to go through my webpages again and look at that. 2.) There has been talk among Langan's that there was possibly a Patrick or a Michael who died and another child was named the same name. No one has been able to find this or validate it. 3.) I have found numerous sites for Askeaton/Ballysteen but where would I find the films? are there any online?Literally every email I sent today has now been returned to me. Even the ones to the parish and diocese. 4.) I do have the cemetery information. Off the top of my head I think it was Sr buried at St Patrick and Jr at St Bon's 5.) I don't have any death certs. for any of the children. But Im not sure they would hold any information that I need regarding Ireland, the church in Ireland, th cemetery in Ireland etc.Not all the children died in NE. 6.) Yes Ellen Carrig was Maurice Srs. sister. She came to the US via Canada and I have the information on when and where they were married. But dont have any actual records in hand. Ive always thought that other Langan's must have came with her because in my mind back in the 1800's I don';t know that single woman would have been allowed by their families to travel with a gentleman without a chaperone. I know the Carrig's were first in Illinois before moving on to NE. Illinois proved quite challenging for me There were many Langan's in IL. but I hadn't found anything that seemed to tie in with mine. Its just a gut feeling I have that there must be some sort of connection. 7.)Im pretty sure I have the SS info. I have to go back and check on that too. Its been so long since Ive made any attempt at researching.Im almost positive it just says Ireland as does his death cert. With all the children I have found info on all say born in Askeaton so it has always been my assumption they also lived and were baptized in Askeaton. And I should know better than to "assume" anything in genealogy LOL I want to bad to find out about them in Ireland before our trip. Thanks so much for your reply and suggestions Sherri :) On Wed, Mar 23, 2011 at 2:57 PM, Sherri Brakenhoff <[email protected]>wrote: > 1. 1900 census shows that Maurice was born in May 1842, not 1836. > > 2. 1900 census shows that Margaret had 11 children, 7 living at that time. > > 3.
