Hi Maura, Thanks for the information! I didn't have any of that. Would you mind sharing your sources with me? Here is the information that I have from the LDS Microfilm #752905, Smogulec, Poland, Parish: 1856, entry #39, Laurentius Kujawa (23) married Catharina Mathuszeska (20) 1859, entry 35, a son, Antonius, born to the couple 1862, entry 13, a daughter, Marianna, born to the couple Because I was looking for the Rosno (Rozek) families rather than the Kujawas, I wouldn't be surprised if I have missed something. I also came across a Lorenz Kujawa on a ship's passenger list. He came to Castle Gardens, I believe, on the Athena in 13 Apr 1866. The list says he was 31, which doesn't match exactly the age calculated from his marriage date, so that leaves some question in my mind whether it is the same person. I haven't yet found anyone else's ship records. My direct line is John Rosno (Joannes Rozek) , who married Josepha Mathuszeska. The two families were good friends (and I'm wondering if the two women were sisters), since I find them witnessing and sponsoring each other for marriages and births of their children. In one personal family history that I have access to, Josepha is called Pierdzioch, but I haven't seen any original source documents that use that name. There are actually two Smogulec microfilms that I have referred to: 752905 and 2034961. There is quite a bit of overlap, and not everthing is consistent from one to the other. I originally found the marriage records for the Rosnos on the Poznan Project, http://bindweed.man.poznan.pl/posen/. It comes up on my computer in Polish, but I have figured out how to navigate it anyway since I can't figure out how to change it to English. Please keep me posted on what you find!
