Ne Obituaries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ne/LancasterObits/10056 Surname: OWEN, OSBON ------------------------- Ashland Gazette (Nebraska) May 26, 1960 Mrs. Frank Owen - Rites at Cedar Hill are Held Friday ------------------------- Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Owen, 73, of Lincoln, who died Sunday morning, May 15, at the Lincoln General hospital after an extended illness, were held Friday afternoon at the Cedar Hill Methodist church. The Rev. C. A. Burt officiated. Marjorie Mattson Smith furnished the music. Pallbearers were Cecil Luthultz, Rodney Beck, Cecil Lutholtz Jr., Cloyde Bauer, Jerry Schoeneman and Doyle Winfrey. Umberger's Mortuary of Lincoln was in charge. Burial was at Cedar Hill. Lula Bell Osbon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moore Osbon was born Feb.6, 1887 at Red Oak, Iowa. She was raised at Greenwood, where she joined the Christian church. On Dec. 21, 1905 she married Frank Orval Owen at Lincoln. Five daughters and one son were born to them. They farmed west of Ashland for 14 years, then lived at North Platte for 24 years and in 1946 moved to Lincoln. She is survived by her husband Frank; son Frank Owen of North Platte; five daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Inez) Wendling and Mrs. Veneas Lutholtz of Lincoln; Mrs. Cecil (Fern) Middleton of North Platte, Mrs. Pearl Neve of Portland, Oregon, and Mrs. Melvin (Lona) Shipps of Ralston; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Osbon of Boulder, Colorado; and one sister, Mrs. Cora Mae Hurlbut of South Sioux City.
