Just read the meaning of the initials, saying it was a Lodge, does anyone know if the members wore small round pens on their lapels? Some of our pictures of ancestors show the men had these on their lapels and we do not know what they mean. Thanks, Charlene Tobin Rodriguez California
Thanks appreciate the info. Cheryle ----- Original Message ----- From: <RandRmil@aol.com> To: <NELANCAS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, June 12, 2001 12:36 PM Subject: Re: [NELANCAS] A.O.U.W. As far as I know it stand for Ancient Order of United Workmen. Rhonda
Hi does anyone know what these initials stand for ? There was a lodge with this name that my great-grandfather belonged to before his death in 1894 ... he lived in Ceresco, Saunders County (sometimes listed as Lancaster county).
Hi Barbara, I am also on this list, my surnames are: TOBIN, FARNSWORTH, GOODRICH Regards. Charlene TOBIN Rodriguez
I have just added the scanned images of the Index pages for the Lancaster County WW1 Veteran's Honor Roll -- this is for you to get a preview of all the men whose photos are in this book. I will be gradually adding these photos to the online book over the next several weeks, as time permits. I wanted to at least have a full name list of who are in the book for all of you that might be interested. The links to the Index images are on the Index page. WW1 Veteran's Lancaster Co., NE COVER http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~irishrose/lancww1vetscover.html This should give you something to look forward to seeing in the coming weeks! Marilyn I am searching a Thomas Henry Williams b 1873 in Beaver Dam ,WI and moved to Lincoln early 1900 and then to Hastings till his death. He had several brothers and sisters who for the most part lived in Nebraska, primarily in the York area. His father was Samuel & mother Margant. I can't find anything on them. Paul
I am sorry to say-I have absolutely nothing on my Albert K. Williams (the K is supposedly for either King or Keyser) I do not know where he was born and assume it was close to my great gram's birth date of 1861. She was from Geneva, OH and died in Sarpy Co., Ne (Bellevue). There was more than one husband for my great gram and possiblely (not known for sure) another WILLIAMS in the wood pile. I can't get this mystery solved either. My gram Eleanor Marion WILLIAMS was born in 1884. Approx. 5 years later there was another daughter born Ida Frances Williams. Gram's notice in the paper was daughter born to Albert K. and Mabel WILLIAMS. The news article for Ida was daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. A.K.Williams. Gram and Ida also swore they were 1/2 sisters which makes me wonder-were Albert and Mabel divorced and he remarried or is this WILLIAM C. WILLIAMS that I keep seeing the real father and the reason for the divorce??????. Mabel's other husband was a RHAMEY. That is the extent of my WILLIAMS line. I am totally in the dark. Shirley

Hi, Shirley, I'm so glad you posted to the list. At the time you emailed me a couple of weeks ago, I was having some computer problems (3 viruses, among other things) and it lost the email before I could respond. I am searching for the parents/family of Charles Williams, b. 19 Jan 1836, probably in OH, possibly Highland or Adams Co.; d. 01 Nov 1918, in the Cedar Hill area, north of Waverly, Lancaster Co., NE. He married Margaret J. Newman, 28 Sep 1881, Highland Co., OH, and their children were Jerry F. Williams, Charles Alton Williams and Craton Williams. They all lived in the Cedar Hill area, and are buried at the church there. I have nothing else for Charles. Does any of this coincide with your Williams info?
