Debra. Wyuka Cemetery and Funeral Home, wc20502@navix.net and TerMaat TODD was the one I had to do all my lookups, but the last time I was informed that was no longer posable and in the future I was to contact WYUKA Historical Foundation, wyuka@navix.net which I did and received my information. Hope this helps from San Diego, California. Bob and Jean, looking for CAMPBELL's & BARNHILL's.

Debra, I do know that I called Wyuka here a few months back and wanted some information. They said that they couldn't give it to me over the telephone and that if I sent the information I wanted along with a dollar a person for inquires they would look up the information. I don't remember seeing an e-mail address for them. I can tell you this,I took a guess at what funeral home that may of handle the funeral of some of the people that i was looking for, which was Roper, Castle and Matthews, now Roper and Sons, wrote them asking if they could look to see if they did handle the funeral and if i could get what information they had on the people. i send a SASE to them and even at giving them a 10 year span, they came up with what i need. They are really good folks. I do know that they,(Roper and Sons), have an e-mail address, but have not used it. Rhonda
hi, I was wondering if anyone in Lincoln could find and email address for me. I would like to know if the Wyuka Cemetery has an email address. I need to ask them some questions and don't want to do it by the snail mail system. it would be much faster by email. I now live in Calif. again and find some of the things I need are still at the Wyuka Cemetery and at the Donald E. Love Library. I could use their email address too. thanks Debra of Bakersfield, Calif.

Zenus E. Parker, along with wife Clara and daughter Nellie appeared on the 1880 census of Midland, Lancaster Co. He was listed as a printing agent, age 45. Can anyone tell me where I might find out if he died between the time the census was taken in 1880 and the end of 1882. By 1883, his wife was married to another man. So I am trying to figure out whether Zenus Park died or there was a divorce. Thanks for any help you can give. Mildred

Charlene, Just looking at an old book I have of Fraternities, here are some possible clubs that they could have belonged to. They are either for Irish, Catholic, or Farmers( Cattleman ranchers or Farmers depending on the club). I'm sure there were others that didn't have anything to do with the ones I'm sending they could have belonged to. Some, with names that make you want to think twice. Rhonda The Grange The Farmers' Alliance Patrons of Husbandry Ancient Order of Hibernians (Irish birth or descent, Roman Catholic) Catholic Knights of America Knights of Columbus Irish Catholic Benevolent Union
Hi Listers: Can anyone tell me if there were any kind of organizations or clubs for Irish, Catholics or Farmers. My male ancestors in some pictures I have, all wore a small round pen in their lapels. abt. 1880's. They lived around the Lancaster, Omaha, Cass and Seward areas. Surname, TOBIN Thanks, Charlene Tobin Rodriguez
Thanks, Charlene
I've been thinking that my Irish ancestor that crossed through Lancaster may have used a different name. I know that the Irish were not always welcomed in the United States in the mid 1800s. Could it be that he had used a different name and claimed to be English to have an easier go of it? My mother grew up believing that she was a McCOY and my McCOY grandfather never told her anything different. Our McCOY ancestor was an Irish immigrant. However, I had a difficult time locating any records about his family. In my family history research I finally stumbled across the marriage license in Lancaster County of my great grandmother and the license shows her married to a LAWS who immigrated from England. Then I was able to locate my "McCOYs" on the 1880 Federal and 1885 State censuses and they were listed with their father as LAWS. This was big news to us. Then I reread my great grandfather's obituary and noticed that even though his name was McCOY that the obituary stated his marriage date as the same as the LAWS and their birth year was only one year different. Could it be that LAWS was only used as an alias by my McCOY and then in later years he changed his name back to McCOY? Anyone have any thoughts about this or any ideas how I could check this out? Hi all, I had posted yesterday that I had a new lookup volunteer for Lancaster County but she wrote today and said that she really had meant to do this for me personally if needed. She would be too busy to take on lookups from the general public, so my apologies to you all for the confusion. Darn! Well , if any of you do have books that pertain to Lancaster County and want to offer your lookup services please do let me know. Again I am sorry for the mistake. I have added this link to the Lancaster County Resources page: <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/southwestlancasterco/">Southwest Lancaster County, Nebraska, Denton, NE and Historical Society</A> http://www.geocities.com/southwestlancasterco/ Here - you will find news, information, and announcements for and about: Berks, Burnham, Centerville, Cheese Creek, Cobb Jct., Denton, Emerald, Hallam, Kramer, Martell, Olive Branch, Princeton, Rokeby, Sprague, & Yankee Hill, Nebraska (all in Southwest Lancaster County). This site will have announcements, items of interest, and genealogical connections. These connections may help your searches regarding Southwestern Lancaster County residents past and present. This page originated in January, 2000. The "Treasures" web site is co-sponsored by the Denton Community Historical Society and several interested individuals. This page is not solely for the purposes of the Denton Community Historical Society information. It is intended to offer a variety of interesting, historical, and community announcements. Also the WW1Veterans Index page has been updated .....more photos have been added. <A HREF="http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~irishrose/lancww1vetscover.html ">WW1 Veteran's Lancaster Co., NE COVER</A> http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~irishrose/lancww1vetscover.html The Yankee Hill Cemetery database will be added to the Lancaster County NEGenWeb Cemeteries page in the near future as promised by the Cemetery Board of Directors. This is still an active cemetery with over 1200 burials. It will take some time to get this indexed alphabetically so be sure to watch for this to be added and updated on a regular basis. I also have two new lookup volunteers that have certain books available to lookup your family data from. Please be sure to limit your request to one at a time. Also allow from 1-2 weeks for replies because they may get alot of requests to start out with & be sure and thank them for their time and help!
