Hi, Toby ... Because my gggrandfather lived in North Bluff township adjacent to Rock Creek township, I made a reduced-size photocopy of the "Plat of Rock Creek" (Township 12 North, Range 7 East of the 6th Principal Meridian). O. W. KENDRICK appears as a landowner on the plat ... he held 80 acres in the northeast corner of Section 22 which is approximately in the middle of the township. I would be happy to try to scan the plat and send it as an attachment to your personal e-mail address. I THINK the plat book which included this map was dated 1905 ... sigh, I made this copy from the book long before I knew the value of citing my sources. Kathie Harrison might like to post the Rock Creek plat map on the Lancaster website ... along with the North Bluff plat? (Hoping Kathie is reading ... <g>) Jennifer David Cincinnati

I just obtained a copy of an obituary for my Gr. Grandmother, who died in 1953, and it listed her being a member of the Spanish American War Auxiliary. So far, I don't know of any relatives who served in this war, but would a person need to have a relative in the war or could anyone be a member? Has anyone tried to get information from this group or do you know how I would contact them? Her name was Catherine McLaughlin, wife of James F. McLaughlin. Thanks, Joyce
I ran across my gr gr grandfather on the list of Civil War Vetrans of Nebraska in the 1893 census as living in Davey, NE. I was wondering if anyone could help me with more information on this family, especially where his wife Elizabeth Decker might be buried. How many cemetaries were there in Davey in 1882 and how would I find out who is buired there? Here is some more information that may be helpful in locating this family. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Orville W. Kendrick b. 22 MAR 1838 in NY, married to Elizabeth Decker 12 JUN 1861 in DeKalb Co., IL, she died 9 MAR 1882 (I believe in Davey, NE). They moved to Lancaster Co., NE around 1880 with their family where they homesteaded: 1 William Carvosso Kendrick b. 1862 in IL; married Lucy Cora Middleton b. 1879 in Cass Co., NE They had a child Clara Etta Kendrick b. 19 AUG 1901 in Johnson Co., NE 2 Steven Edward Kendrick b. 1864 in IL; m. Mary Reicherts 7 SEP 1885 in Lancaster Co., NE 3 Frank Irving Kendrick b. 1876 in IL; m. Edna M. Middleton 28 FEB 1889 in Thomas Co., KS The parents of Lucy and Edna Middleton were Isaac Middleton and Clara Garmer who lived in Lancaster Co. and later Cass Co., NE Thanks for any help, Toby Kendrick
I have just added 48 more photos and short biographies for the Lancaster County, NE WWI Honor Roll book that is still a project in progress. More will be added as soon as time allows. Meanwhile, I do hope that you find someone from your family listed.
