My ggGp was Jared MARKS. He and 2 young daughters died of diphtheria in 1884 and are buried in Rose Creek Cemetery. Jared's parents were Rev. Ives Marks and Emily LEAMING who came to Jefferson Co. in 1862 and built a mill, church and school which was called Marks Mills and later Rose Creek City. Jared's wife was Josephine ELLIOTT. She relocated to CO after Jared's death. According to the 1880 census, she was born in Minnesota, her father born Ohio and her mother born IND.
