I am seeking information on Charles and Eliza Caton. Cemetery Listings for Bethel Cemetery, Carleton, NE, list Charles Caton b 18 Feb 1806, d 21 Jul 1899; Eliza Caton b 1 Aug 1810, d 19 Mar 1899. I have been unable to find any probate records for them and the only thing resembling an obituary or death notice was found in the Carleton news of the Hebron Journal, Fri 31 Mar 1899, which read: "Grandma Caton died last Sunday and was buried at the German Baptist Church last Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Caton had reached the ripe old age of 88 years. Her husband is living and is hale and hearty at the age of 93 years." My records show that Joshua P Caton, b 14 Oct 1854, probably in Ohio, d 6 March 1921 at Davenport, Thayer Co, NE. He was married to Rebecca Fulk/Falk probably in Owen Co, Indiana. They moved from Coal City, Indiana, to Nebraska in the 1880's. His parents were Charles Caton and Eliza Ringer. I am looking for proof that the Charles and Eliza Caton buried at Carleton are indeed Joshua's parents. I am also looking for any siblings of Joshua. I suspect there may have been at least one married sister who lived at Carleton. Any info would be appreciated or even any suggestions on where I should look next in my attempt to prove a relationship. Does anyone know anything about the German Baptist Church at Carleton? I have considerable information on Joshua Caton's descendants which I am willing to share with anyone interested. DeLoris Jensby
